Welcome to My Colourful, Messy, and Beautiful Art Journey!

Hey there! I’m Lauren, an artist based in Aldershot, UK—where urban buzz meets nature’s calm. It’s the perfect blend of inspiration, and I get to soak in all kinds of creative energy from the world around me.

Art has always been a part of me, but for the longest time, I kept it tucked away, unsure if I could truly take up space as an artist. Sound familiar? We’re so often taught—especially as women—to shrink ourselves, to stay small, to be quiet. But you know what? I’m done with that. I’ve spent 26 years dimming my own light, and now, I’m flipping the switch on. Stepping into my authentic self has been messy, exhilarating, and not everyone loves the new (real) me—and that’s okay.

A Balancing Act: Science by Day, Art by Night

By day, I’m an environmental consultant (yep, I have a first-class geology degree from the University of Leicester!), and by night, I’m covered in paint, completely lost in my world of colour and texture. Juggling a full-time job and an art business isn’t easy, and honestly? It’s terrifying to put my work out there. That little voice in my head loves to remind me how vulnerable it feels to share my creative process. But here’s the thing—nothing magical happens inside your comfort zone.

My Art: A Riot of Colour, Texture, and Feeling

So, what do I actually create? Well… a bit of everything! I’m still exploring my artistic niche, but if there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s this: I’m obsessed with colour and texture. I don’t just want to see art—I want to feel it. When I run my fingers over a canvas, I want to experience the peaks, the ridges, the depth. To me, that’s the magic of art.

Art isn’t just about making something pretty—it’s about making people feel. Whether it’s a hyperrealistic masterpiece that looks more real than reality itself or a chaotic splash of abstract joy, colour tells a story. My message? Create for the love of creating. Forget perfection. Forget expectations. Make art because it’s bursting out of you and needs to be seen.

Taking Up Space & Building a Creative Community

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that art is meant to be shared. The world can feel heavy, but creativity brings us together. It gives us joy, expression, and connection. I want to build a space where artists—whether seasoned or just starting—feel inspired to pick up a paintbrush, throw some colours together, and make something.

So, let’s be bold. Let’s take up space. Let’s create messy, vibrant, unapologetic art and make the world a little brighter together.

Are you with me?
